Roman copper alloy hinged Colchester Derivative (dolphin) brooch. Circular-sectioned wings open at either end with traces of iron corrosion from the axis bar, stub of broken pin protrudes from the slot, incomplete sub-rectangular sectioned bow, the foot missing. The brooch is worn and corroded with no trace of any decoration except for a curved groove on the upper face separating the start of the bow from the wings. Width 45mm. Surviving length 38mm. Circa 55 - 80 AD.
