Copper alloy gilt probable buckle plate. Cast rectangular plate with a drilled hole of diameter 3.2mm at one end, which is very slightly expanded, and the edge of another hole at the other, broken, end. The display face bears incised and bordered decoration comprising an elongated saltire, rocker work zig-zags in the upper and lower triangular panels defined by the saltire, and gilding traces overall. Suggested date: Medieval, 1250-1400.
