A cast copper alloy, single loop, oval buckle with a broad outer edge expanded into a rectangular tab with rounded ends, and a narrowed and offset strap bar, dating from about AD 1350 - 1400. At each end the outer edge is decorated with a pair of narrow, transverse grooves. The pin is missing. There are traces of silvering or tinning on the frame. The buckle is 17.9mm long, 22.1mm wide and 2.7mm thick. It weighs 2.74gm. See Griffiths, Philpott and Egan, 2007, page 84.
