An incomplete post-Medieval cast copper-alloy buckle (c. 1660-c. 1720).
The spindle, pin and chape are missing.
It has concave, bifid sides with moulded bifid knops around the spindle holes and each outer edge has five decorative transverse grooves. The rear face is flat. Each drilled hole contains the remains of an iron spindle.
This buckle frame has a shiny mid-green patina.

A similar buckle has been published and dated c. 1660-c. 1720 (Whitehead 2003: 98, ref: 614).
