A flint blade core, probably dating to the Neolithic period. The core is fabricated on a piece of dark brown flint .There is a small area of grey cortex remaining on one side. At the top of the core a broad striking platform has been prepared from a single, lateral strike. At the base, the core tapers to a point. All of the vertical surfaces show scars from the removal of a number of blades. Two of these blade removal scars run perpendicular to the others and parallel to each other, struck from a small, second platform and crossing those from the main striking platform. This appears to be a core at the end of its life and it is likely that these two blades were the last ones struck from it.
