A complete copper alloy strap fitting of medieval date. The fitting is sub-triangular with one straight edge and two slightly curved edges. Spherical knops project from either end of the flat edge with slightly narrowed waists suggesting the fitting may have functioned as a type of hinge or swivel. The object is undecorated.
The metal has a dark greenish-grey patina and is worn. The fitting is 32.4mm long, 21.4mm wide, 3.8mm thick and weighs 5g.
