An incomplete copper-alloy zoomorphic foot from a Medieval cooking vessel. Only part of the base of the foot survives, the remainder of the object is missing due to old breaks, now worn.
It is pointed oval in form and plano-convex in section, terminating at the top of the foot in old breaks. The front of the foot has two concave depressions separated by a moulded vertical ridge, probably intended to represent toes. The remainder of the object is undecorated.
This vessel foot measures 23.21mm in height, 21.06mm in length (at the base of the foot), 10.75mm in width (at the base of the foot), 7.62mm in thickness, 17.72g in weight.
There is a similar example from London (Egan, 1998, p. 164, no. 457).
