A copper alloy Medieval mount probably dating from about AD 1400 - 1500. The head of the mount is sub-square, 13.2mm by 12.3mm, and is faceted so the face is a truncated pyramid. The reverse is hollow and there is an integral, square-sectioned spike projecting from the centre. This is now bent. The attachment spike is 14.8mm long and tapers from 3.4mm wide to a point. The mount is similar to SF8921.
