An incomplete cast copper alloy enamelled Roman disc brooch dating to the period c. AD 80 - 250. The brooch measures 23.10mm in diameter, 7.10mm thick (including catchplate or lug) and weighs 4.56 grams.
The brooch is flat and decorated with a six-pointed with each end terminating in a rounded a knob,and around a single copper alloy pellet. The area inside the star contains red enamel, the remainder of the brooch contains blue enamel.
A complete lug and catchplate are visible on the reverse, the iron sprung pin is incomplete. The curl of the catchplate is missing.
