A complete copper-alloy circular mount of Post-Medieval 16th to 17th century date. It is D-shaped in section. The outer edge of the front face is decorated with beaded decoration. Within this is a central boss with a convex front face. On the back face are the remains of two integrally cast broken spikes. These would have been trapezoidal, tapering to a point and bent forwards. The diameter is 58mm. Similar to SF-DBA692, and LVPL-23FFC5.
