An incomplete and flattened copper-alloy circular thimble or sewing ring of probable late Medieval to early Post-Medieval date. It is missing approximately half of the object due to old breaks, now worn.
It has an unthickened rim with circumferential groove at the bottom and the top. The front face has diagonal rows of drilled circular indentations.
This thimble measures 27.80mm in length, 18.16mm in width, 0.84mm in thickness, 1.99g in weight.
There is a similar example from London (Egan, 1998, p. 267, no. 820).
