A post-Medieval copper-alloy hooked tag.
The object comprises an oval plate with ropework border, surmounted by an inverted-trapezoidal hanger, with a rearward hook at the base. The design on the plate takes the form of a relief-moulded, draped female bust, which faces towards the hook. The hanger and hook are both of trapezoidal section, the latter tapering to a damaged point.
Length: 35.4mm; width: 15.7mm; thickness: 2.8mm. Weight: 2.64g.
A parallel for this hooked tag is illustrated and described by Brian Read (2008: 94, no. 335). Similar examples on the PAS database, albeit with male busts, include BH-E872A2 and BH-97F565.
