A badly distorted copper-alloy artefact, Medieval in date and probably representing either an open-frame brooch or an incomplete frame from a single-loop buckle.
The piece takes the form of a strip with a series of moulded subcuboidal turrets along its upper surface. These turrets alternate between two different heights, each of the taller ones having an incuse pellet at the centre of its upper surface. The vertical sides of the piece are flat, as is the underside. A groove extends longitudinally on the outer surface, located a short distance below the bases of the aforementioned turrets. At each end, a narrow, circular-sectioned projection springs from the centre of an otherwise vertical face. The artefact is heavily corroded.
