An incomplete cast, copper alloy disc brooch of Roman date (AD 80 - 250AD). The catch plate and lug for a spring pin are present on the reverse but the pin itself is missing. The brooch measures 19.96mm in diameter, and weighs 3.27 grams.
The brooch is flat (1.08mm thick) and is decorated with a central raised circle surrounded by a triskele design (three curved arms) with circular protrusions at each point. No traces of enamel remain.
This brooch has been recorded in Read (2001) Fig. 65, No. 741.
