An incomplete post-Medieval asymmetrical double looped buckle frame (c. 1575-c. 1700).

The pin is missing.

This frame is sub-rectangular in plan and cross-section. It is convex at the front and flat at the rear. One loop is rectangular and the other loop is roughly 'D'-shaped. The outer edge of the 'D'-shaped loop has a central pin rest. The narrowed off-set bar is triangular in cross-section. At each end of the integral bar there is a decorative swelling on the upper face.

This frame has a brown patina with small areas of corrosion.

Length: 31.9mm; width: 21.9mm; thickness: 4.0mm. Weight: 3.66g.

A similar buckle has been published and dated c. 1575-1700 AD (Whitehead 2003: 91, ref: 569).
