A complete post-Medieval cast copper-alloy stud or mount (c. 1500-c. 1600).
This stud is convex at the front and concave at the rear. The domed front is in the form of a schematic flower head with grooves dividing eight pointed petals. At the rear a central integral bent spike is square in cross-section beneath the head but becomes circular in cross-section nearer the sharp point.
It is green and reddish brown with traces of a shiny green patina at the front.
