An incomplete Late Medieval/ Early Post Medieval (1400-1600) copper-alloy thimble, with damage to the open end causing part of the base of the wall to be lost. The top is slightly domed and the walls below flare to the open end (15.4mm diameter at top end, 18.9mm diameter at open end). A spiral of drilled circular pits starts at the apex and continues around the walls to the base, which is flanked with a pair of circumferential grooves.
The thimble stands 19.35mm tall and weighs 3.53g.
