A probable lead token of medieval to post-medieval date, circa AD 1200 - 1800. The token is sub-circular with worn raised designs on both surfaces which are indistinguishable.
The metal is a dark grey colour and is worn. The token is 23mm in diameter, 3.5mm thick and weighs 7.7g.
Tokens with simple designs are very easy to make and continued in use for a long period. They have a huge range of designs which were not necessarily related to function and could have been used for various purposes such as counting, gaming, farm or tavern tokens or possibly even as weights.
