A corroded Medieval cast copper-alloy single-loop oval buckle frame (c. 1270-c. 1350).

The outer edge is rectangular and swollen, convex at the front and convex at the rear. Each side is thin and convex in plan. The narrowed off-set bar is roughly square in cross-section. It has a tapering copper-alloy pin which is convex at the front and largely flat at the rear.

The frame and pin are drab green.

Frame: length: 15.5mm; width: 19.0mm; thickness: 3.1mm.

Pin: length: 14.8mm; width at loop: 2.0mm.

Overall weight: 2.76g.

A similar buckle from London has been dated c. 1270-c. 1350 (Egan and Pritchard 1991: 77, fig. 46, ref: 319).
