Late medieval or post-medieval copper alloy book clasp. Rectangular sheet cut to form a hook at one end. The corners at the attachment end were originally splayed but are now broken. Three rivet holes are arranged longitudinally each surrounded by an engraved or stamped ring. The surface is badly corroded and the sheet cracked. Length 55mm. Maximum surviving width 16.5mm. 16th - 17th century.
