An incomplete copper-alloy medieval (AD c.1250-c.1400) single loop buckle with a decorative integral plate, missing its pin and the tip of its trefoil terminal. Overall, the buckle measures 43.7mm long, 15.8mm wide and 2.5mm thick. It weighs 3.77g. The frame is D-shaped with an expanded outer edge. It measures 12.8mm long, 15.8mm wide and 1.9mm thick (6.7mm long and 10.7mm wide internally). It has a narrowed plate with an expanded moulding behind the strap bar and half way along the plate. It has an incomplete trefoil terminal with a rivet hole in each lobe. There is another rivet hole immediately behind the hole for the pin. There are traces of gilding on all the front surfaces of the buckle.
