A copper alloy post-medieval mount dating to the period AD c1540-1900. The mount is lozengiform in shape with curved corners and is domed in profile with a concave base. The mount has four holes, presumably for rivets. At one corner, there is what appears to be the remnants of a broken hook which may have curved to the back of the mount. At each corner, there are two incised chevrons pointing towards the centre with the attachment holes between and with small decorative holes at the point of the chevrons. In the centre of the mount, there is a raised quatrefoil with a single circular knop at the centre which creates the domed effect. There is the remains of gilding.
The back of the mount is concave with the four rivet holes visible.
