A fragment of a copper alloy early-medieval (AD c.500-c.600) cruciform brooch, missing its head and bow, its catchplate and part of the foot. It consists of only the half-round panel, the horse headed terminal and the spatulate extension from the brooch's foot. Overall, the fragment measures 31.1mm long, 11.1mm wide and 4.5mm thick. It weighs 4.53g. The fragment is corroded and many of the details have worn away. However, the outline of the horse's moulded nostrils and eyes are just visible.
