A cast copper-alloy buckle frame of Medieval date. It is as Meols type 2 with D-shaped frame that has an offset and narrowed bar and expanded outer edge. Hinging around the bar is a separately cast buckle plate. This is rectangular in form with rectangular frame recesses and pin slot, and small rectangular lower plate. At the attachment end there is a single central circular rivet hole. The front face of the upper plate has the remains of an incised border, its precise form uncertain due to the preservation of the object. A separately cast copper-alloy pin also hinges around the bar and is flat and triangular in form, tapering to a sharp point. The entire object is worn and measures 20.27mm in width, 27.97mm in length, 2.07mm in thickness and 3.94g in weight. This buckle is of Medieval date, c.13th-14th centuries AD.
