An incomplete copper-alloy oval buckle frame with offset and narrowed bar of Medieval date, Meols Type 8. It is missing the pin.
It is D-shaped in section with a flat back and expanded outer edge. The outer edge has four projecting lobes. All faces display coarse filing marks from finishing.
This buckle frame measures 17.45mm in length, 25.00mm in width, 2.13mm in thickness, 2.37g in weight.
There is a similar example from London (Egan and Prichard, 1991, p. 77, no. 318).
