Copper alloy aesica type Roman brooch. The pin, spring and catchplate are missing. A small part of the catch plate is still visible. The brooch would have had rearward facing lugs on either end of the wings that would have held the spring and pin. The rearwards facing hook would have held the external cord of the spring. The brooch is made from a long flat plate that has a large integrally cast loop at the top that forms the head. Where the base of the loop meets the plate, the sides would have had projections forming triangular projections with knop terminals. The leg of the brooch would have been formed into a triangular panel. A concentric circular pattern can be seen on the top surface of the leaf shaped plate. Similar to GLO-FF9AA6, CAM-97D6C8 and BH-408018 ,
The brooch is 46.70mm in length, 16.91mm across the widest part of the leaf plate and 12.32mm in depth. The weight is 8.19 grams.
