A worn and incomplete copper-alloy buckle plate of Medieval date. It is oval in form, missing its attachment end due to old breaks. At the frame end are slight triangular projections at top and bottom, with rectangular frame recesses and pin slot, folded over to form a short rectangular lower plate. At the centre of the attachment end are two circular rivet holes missing their rivets due to old breaks. The front face of the plate has decoration comprising a grooved border and the remains of gilding, any additional decorative elements obscured by post-depositional damage and corrosion. It measures 28.66mm in width, 24.99mm in length (incomplete), 1.04mm in thickness and 4.22g in weight. This buckle plate is of Medieval date, c.12th-14th centuries AD.
