A fragment of a cast copper-alloy thistle brooch dating to the late Iron Age or early Roman period. All that remains is the bow of the brooch which is D shaped in section, it is badly worn and so any decorative marks are no longer visible. The base of the bow is joined to a separate, sub-circular plate. The reverse is broken in places and badly worn but is flat and appears undecorated. The foot of the brooch is missing as is the pin and wings although there are two small horizontal ridges at the top of the bow where the wings would have attached.
