A complete Medieval to post-Medieval copper-alloy closed thimble (c. 1400-c. 1550).
This thimble is domed and the thick walls have a continuous spiral of hand drilled circular pits that spiral in a clockwise direction from the base towards the bare crown. The rim is plain and there are no manufacture marks.
This thimble has a matt green patina.
Height: 17.3mm; width: 19.2mm; thickness: 18.1mm; thickness at rim: 0.6mm. Weight: 6.07g.
