Flint possible D-shaped knife of the early to mid Neolithic (4000 to 2701 BC): In plan the knife is a sub-oval with one lateral edge being slightly straighter than the other convex lateral edge and in profile it is triangular. The flint is a dark grey/brown opaque flint with traces of cortex on the dorsal face. The dorsal surface has re-touch along the lateral edges, one edge has invasive, scaled low angled re-touch, and the other has semi-abrupt re-touch. The ventral surface has ripples, and the bulb of percussion appears to be missing, therefore the knife is incomplete. The knife has been retrieved whilst metal detecting and is part of an on-going collection of metal work with some flints. It measures 48.47mm long, 20.03mm wide, 6.19mm thick and weighs 6.8g.
