Silver, Post Medieval Half Groat of James I (AD 1603 - AD 1625). Minted as part of the Third Issue Coinage in 1624. TVEATVR VNITA DEVS reverse type depicting a thistle with a crown above. North type 2127 (page 148). Coin has square puncture from reverse to obverse, puncture is at 12 o'clock on reverse and 9 o'clock on obverse. It is also clear that when striking this coin the moneyer missed the flan.
