An incomplete cast copper-alloy buckle of Medieval date. The outer edge of the frame is missing and the attachment end of the buckle plate has been bent due to post-depositional damage. The frame is oval in form with offset and narrowed bar. Hinging around the bar is a sheet copper-alloy plate. This is flat, rectangular in form with upper and lower plates of equal size and rectangular frame recesses. At the centre of the bar end of the plate is a circular pin hole, and at the centre of the attachment end is a single circular rivet hole containing a separately cast copper-alloy rivet with flattened heads. The entire object measures 27.41mm in width, 26.79mm in length (incomplete), 3.90mm in thickness and 3.78g in weight. This buckle is of Medieval date, c.14th century AD.
