An incomplete copper alloy Roman spoon dating from the second to third century AD. The spoon consists of only about half of the bowl, the U-shaped connection from the underside of the bowl, and a short length of handle.
According to Crummy (1988: 69) and de la Bedoyere (1989: 102), spoons with pear-shaped bowls were in use from the first half of the second century onwards.
