A conical lead weight, possibly used as a spindle whorl or similar object of uncertain date.
It has a flat back face and slightly flattened top with central circular aperture.
This spindle whorl measures 16.49mm in diameter, 13.96mm in height, 24.67g in weight.
There is a similar example from Suffolk recorded on the PAS database (SF-ED44F1).
This is a relatively simple cast lead spindle whorl that could be of any date from the Roman period onwards.
