A complete Medieval to post-Medieval cast copper-alloy button (dating from about AD 1475-1600). The button is solid and the head is biconvex in form, circular in plan, convex at the front and convex at the back. The integral shank has a circular perforation for attachment, but is now broken and incomplete. This button has flecks of a dark grey patina. Compare IOW-4DCE66 which notes that: "Similar buttons have been published and dated c. 1475-c. 1600 AD (Read 2005: 51-53, refs: 174-190)". The button is 12.83mm long, 10.67mm in diameter and weighs 3.12g.
