An incomplete lead steelyard weight of probable Roman date. It is missing the majority of the suspension loop due to old breaks, now worn.
It is biconical in form with a pointed base. The remains of the iron suspension loop is visible at both top and bottom of the weight.
This weight measures 29.04mm in length, 22.60mm in diameter, 47.55g in weight
This is a steelyard weight of probable Roman date, although a later date cannot be ruled out entirely. There is a similar example from Colchester (Crummy, 1983, p. 101, no. 2510) and recorded on the PAS database (SF-62C5A7).
