Post-medieval copper alloy thimble with its lower half covered in stamped decoration applied in encircling bands. From the base these comprise: obliquely set elongated impressions resembling bread loaves, a fine engraved groove, horizontally set similar impressions, seven conjoined lozenges formed from lines of annulets and each containing a six-pointed star, horizontal loves, a fine groove and obliquely set loaves. Diameter c.16mm. Height 22.5mm. A Nuremberg or Dutch product of c.1550 - c.1620 ( cf. Margeson 1992, nos. 1462-5; Egan 2005, no. 643).
