An unusually large and thick lead alloy token of Medieval or Post Medieval date, about AD 1250 - 1800. It is uniface and is an irregular circle with casting sprues surviving, possibly a mis-cast token. The design is of six unevenly spaced lines radiating from the centre. Each segment thus created contains a chevron, line or cross. All are depicted in raised ribs. This design fits into Powell Class 3 (Segments), but may also be interpreted as a millstone, so could perhaps be considered as Class 12 (quartered geometric) where other possible millstones are grouped. The edges are rounded and the reverse is plain. The metal has a smooth tan grey patina. It is 28.9mm in diameter and 5.32mm thick. 25.86g.
