Copper alloy key. Cast rotary key, probably for a casket. A bit with a single cleft in its front and back edges is set at the slightly expanded end of an oval section stem which meets an oval bow at its narrower end. The end of the stem is hollow to a depth of 2.3mm. Smoothed by heavy wear. Suggested date: Medieval, 1200-1400.
