An unidentified copper alloy artefact of unknown date, but probably Post Medieval. Though the object resembles a broken phallic pendant, it is not well enough made nor clearly enough modelled to be identfied as such.
It consists of a sub-circular cross-sectioned shaft, tapering slightly to a globular terminal. There is no indication of any mounting point or suspension loop, nor any apparant breaks, but the object is quite corroded, which may be obscuring details. The artefact is undecorated and has a rough and patchy dark green patina. It is 23.5mm long and the widest part of the shaft is 6.3mm in diameter. The globular terminal is 6.8mm in diameter. It weighs 3.39gm.
The object bears comparison with Post Medieval to Modern seed drill scoops such as NLM105. If accepted to be badly corroded, a case could be made for there being an attachment rivet at the wider end of the stem, and the globular head being the remains of a thick scoop.
