Fragment of a late Saxon stirrup strap mount of Williams' Class A, Type 4. Only the base and lower part of the body survives. The surviving part is now rectangular in plan, and in each corner is an openwork circle. A tapering scale-like tendril wraps around both of the circles, perhaps representing the tail of a beast. In the centre is symmetrical tree-like shape which grows from the base of the frame up the centre of the mount. The lower pair of branches are visible, and these coil upwards on both sides. An incomplete rearward lip is located on the base.
