An incomplete cast copper-alloy (locking) key of Medieval date, c. AD 1200-1500.
The handle of the key has been lost, with evidence for a break at the collar at the end of the shank. The shank itself is rectangular in section with a hollow tip, and an L-shaped bit with four downward pointing clefs.
