An incomplete and corroded Medieval cast copper-alloy and enamelled non-heraldic lozenge-shaped harness pendant (c. 1200-cc. 1400).
The suspension loop is missing.
The front is decorated with an enamelled bird and the remaining area is corroded and illegible.
The enamel is white and crazed and the bird is resting facing right. The head is turned rearwards towards the triparte tail. Its eye is round (not enamelled) and the small beak is closed and slender. There are three unclear white enamelled features above the bird. The rear face is plain.
This harness pendant is corroded with a brown patina. The break appears to be old.
Height: 29.6mm; width: 24.3mm; thickness: 2.0mm. Weight: 5.01g.
It is possible that the bird is a swan and is carrying three cygnets on its back.
