A very worn silver coin of the post-medieval period. The coin has been rubbed clean on both faces, and some attempt has been made to bend the outer edges. It seems likely therefore that this is a 'love token' a gift between lovers (or so it is thought). The size of the coin suggests that it may have been a fourpence of Charles II (AD 1670-1684).
