A fragment of a post-Medieval purse bar frame (c. 1550-c. 1650). Ward Perkins Type A2.
This curving fragment is 'V'-shaped in cross-section. The outer face has cast foliate decoration in the form of repeating vine-like scrolls and the inner face is plain. At one end of the plain face is a circular hole.
This frame is pitted and corroded and has traces of a dark green patina. The breaks are old.
Length: 35.4mm; width: 7.0mm; thickness: 5.2mm. Weight: 5.57g.
