A late Iron Age or Roman copper-alloy mount. The mount is semi-cylindrical in section, rectangular in plan, and has closed ends. The convex surface has a large rib in the centre, with three narrower ribs to either side. An oval opening is located in the centre of the large rib, and this contains the remains of an iron pin or shank. The underside is irregularly recessed, but notably so towards one end. Traces of a white substance, perhaps lead solder, are visible across the recessed area.
