Copper alloy harness pendant. Cast heraldic harness pendant comprising a heater shield shaped plate with an oval suspension loop with drilled aperture of diameter 1.8mm at right angles to the display face and angled to project in front of it. The device comprises three red enamel chevrons on a field of uncertain tint, though a tiny spot of gilding is retained under the suspension loop. The device may refer to the Arms of Clare, Earls of Gloucester and Hereford. Suggested date: Medieval, 1250-1350.
