A complete copper-alloy late Early-Medieval bit-link.
It is D-shaped in section with a flat back face. The terminals are circular with central circular apertures. These are connected by a rectangular shaft with a rounded boss defined by a pair of transverse collars. The front face of the boss is decorated with a ring and dot motif. The back face is undecorated and displays filing marks from finishing.
This bit-link measures 72.36mm in length, the terminal is 21.24mm in diameter, the shaft is 12.35mm in width, 9.39mm in thickness, 27.40g in weight.
There is a similar example Brockham, Surrey (Williams, 2007, unpublished, fig. 10) and recorded on the PAS database (SF-B97697).
