Large, leaf shaped stone axe fashioned from Eskdale granite. Significantly water worn and rolled removing all traces of flaking scars or facets. Dark surface coloration of the butt-end.

The axe was examined by Dr Alan Bowden of the NMGM Geology Dept. and Drs. Gillian Varndell and Nicholas Ashton of the British Museum.
