A silver halfpenny of Henry VI, first reign, mint of Calais. (1445 - 1454). Obverse is double-struck.

Alasdair Wardle has identified this coin, and makes the comments: Henry VI Calais halfpenny using Leaf Mascle obverse die muled with Pinecone Mascle reverse die. An extremely rare mule, although these are showing up increasingly as metal detecting finds...(pers.comm. 23.06.14).

Notes:

Many thanks to Alasdair Wardle for his comments.
